What details to consider to make them a perfectly matched floor finish?

The best way to choose moldings that are sure to match your interior is to match them to the floor. If this is the case, pay attention to the material of your flooring and choose a skirting board in a shade as close as possible to the color of the floor. You can also adjust the skirting boards by specifying the color of the walls – this has one basic advantage: it optically lengthens a given room. Nowadays, selected stores offer a wide selection of skirting boards in a rich range of colors, thanks to which the customer can choose any color, ideally matching the shade of paint on a selected wall. In rooms with a monochromatic character, it is also a good solution to match skirting boards to furniture, choosing skirting boards in the same color.

  • Wooden skirting – these types of skirting perfectly match the flooring, which is made up of wood floor panels. They are slightly less flexible than those made of synthetic materials. Wooden skirting boards fit both interiors with classic and modern decor. Their advantages include a quick change of appearance – they can be easily repainted in any color. They can have a quarter round, concave or triangular cross-section, which makes it easy to match them to the particular style of your home. When choosing them, pay attention to knots, as some skirting boards are free of them
  • MDF skirting board – mdf skirting boards are more and more often replacing plastic skirting boards. They are covered with veneer or lacquer and usually come in a wide range of colors. However, the most popular are white mdf skirting boards, optically enlarging the interior. White mdf skirting boards look exceptionally stylish when juxtaposed with dark coloured walls and patterned wallpaper. Mdf skirting boards are available in both a simple form and with decorative milling, which is their advantage and will beautifully harmonize with an English style interior design;
  • PVC skirting board – the advantage of PVC skirting boards is low price while maintaining high quality, as well as flexibility, which allows you to compensate for small differences in the level of the floor.
