Major Events To Look Out For In 2022

2022 is going to be a major year for sports fans as so many sports-related events are going to take place this year. While superheroes fans would love the list of movie names that is all set to hit the cinema this year, people in France are nervous about the upcoming elections. Have a look at some of the major events that you should look out for this year. 

If you are a tennis fan, you would be excited about the upcoming sports tournaments. After two years, sports fans will be able to experience the thrill of cheering on their favorite team and players. The same goes for the cinephiles who will be enjoying watching movies as they used to do in pre-covid times. Events 

ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022

The finest women cricket players from eight would battle to win the World Cup. The matches will be held in New Zealand from March 4 to April 3. The Australian, New Zealand, and England women’s cricket teams are only three teams that have won the title since the beginning of the tournament. Cricket fans are looking forward to which country will take the World Cup home this year. 

French Open

The major annual tennis tournament will kickstart on May 22. The event first started in 1891 and has become a tradition since then. Last year, Novak Djokovic (Serbia) and Barbora Krejčíková (Czech Republic) won the tournament. 

The Wimbledon

Starting June 27, 2022, Wimbledon will be returning for the 135th season. For the first time in the History of Wimbledon, there will be no middle Sunday – a day off between the first and second week of the tournament. 

2022 Common Wealth Games

England will host the Common Wealth Games in Birmingham from July 28 to August 8. This year’s game will be special as the Women T-20 Cricket game is making its long-awaited debut. Not only that, this year, women would have more opportunities to win medals than men. 

Election Alert 

The first half of the year is packed with major elections. In March, South Korea is holding a presidential election, one of the most important Asian political events to look forward to. In the same month, Hong Kong Cheif Executive Election would take place. April will mark the French presidential election month, and the Philippines general election will be held on May 9. 

Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Queen Elizabeth II has been rocking the title of Queen for 70 years. While celebrations will be observed all around the year, people in the UK will get two bank holidays too! June 2 to June 5. 

Back To the Cinema

Grab your seatbelt and get ready to take the ride of a year full of promising releases. After two years, cinemas and movies halls are now opening up again for the public. This year Batman, Mission: Impossible 7, Thor- Love and Thunder, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Avatar 2 will hit the theatres.
