How to use an eyelash curler?

An eyelash curler is a fantastic invention. With the help of this simple device you will give your eyelashes a curling effect in less than a minute. An eyelash curler will bring out the natural beauty of your eye, enhancing even short and thin eyelashes. But before you try curling them, learn how to do it skillfully!

Eyelash curler – how to use it?

How to skillfully and safely curl eyelashes with an eyelash curler for a lasting effect? Let’s start with the fact that the eyelash curler is used on clean, unpainted eyelashes. If, on the other hand, you plan to use eyeshadow and eyeliner, do so before you reach for the eyelash curler. It will be much more difficult with curled lashes.

Before you apply the eyelash curler, make sure it is quite warm. You can direct a stream of warm air from a hair dryer onto it for a few seconds. You can skip this step if your eyelashes themselves are quite curved, or you simply don’t need such a dramatic effect.

Bring the eyelash curler closer to your eyes, apply the upper clamp as close to your skin as possible, and use the lower clamp to support your lashes at the very root. Try to hold the device as close to the skin as possible. Leave the eye open. Now tighten the eyelash sucker slightly and hold it like this for 10-15 seconds. Some people recommend holding the eyelash curler longer, but, surprisingly, this will not translate into their final look. For comfort, rest your elbow on the table top.

The amount of pressure depends directly on how long you want to hold the curler. The longer you want to hold the curler, the weaker you tighten it. Otherwise you may damage your hair or get a square lash effect.

When you’re done with the root, move with the lash curler a little closer to the ends. Again, tighten and hold for the specified time. Step by step move closer and closer to the ends. The closer you get to the ends of your lashes, the less pressure you apply. The tips of the lashes are the thinnest and most delicate, so they require a lot of attention when curling them.

When you are done curling your eyelashes, immediately paint them with mascara or a clear eyebrow and lash stabilizer. A waterproof mascara will give the best effect. If the curling effect does not satisfy you, wait until the mascara dries completely and repeat the whole procedure. In general, this is not a good idea, because painted eyelashes become more brittle. Therefore, if you already want to repeat the procedure, tighten the eyelash curler minimally and do it as a last resort.

The whole procedure will take you about 10 minutes. If you do everything correctly and step by step, the effect of curled eyelashes will accompany you throughout the evening. However, you need to know that everything depends not only on the work done, but also on the chosen eyelash curler.

Eyelash curler – how to choose?

There are several types of eyelash curlers – mechanical, electric and for curling false eyelashes. The mechanical lash curler is the device most often chosen not only by amateurs of beautiful eyelashes, but also by professional makeup artists. The electric lash curler heats up to a certain temperature, which ensures a long-lasting curling effect. Its operation is simple, but the whole process takes a little longer, which is why it’s quite a rarely purchased device. Owners of artificial eyelashes, on the other hand, are recommended to use a special variety of an eyelash curler, distinguished by softer silicone cushions. To natural eyelashes it will not give such a curling effect, so make sure what type of eyelashes the lash curler is for before buying.
