First, place the washed eggs in cold water, and when the water comes to a boil, count down 8 minutes. Then pour out the hot water and pour cold water over the eggs. It will be easier for you to peel them from their shells. Hard-boiled eggs are easy to overcook. You will recognize such an egg by the dark border around the yolk. Eggs that have been stored in the refrigerator for too long or are just plain old also look like this.
