What are the models of interior roller blinds?

Below we present the characteristics of the various systems of interior roller blinds

Roman blinds

Roman blinds are very easy to operate and take up much less space than a regular curtain. This makes them ideal for example for small houses or narrow windows. A definite advantage of this solution is the fact that such roller blinds cover the window but not, for example, the radiator. Roman blinds match various interiors and look especially good in living rooms with natural and grey tones. Interestingly, they can also be combined with curtains, which will make the interior look more cozy. Roman blinds are available both in the form of transparent window shading and in the form of a fully blackout product that protects the room from the sun’s rays. Moreover, their installation is very simple and takes only a moment, they are also very easy to clean. Therefore, it is a good and versatile solution for anyone who wants to gain a functional window covering system

Austrian roller blinds

Elegant, classic Austrian blinds will provide a cozy atmosphere in the room

Austrian blinds look very stylish and graceful thanks to their characteristic creases – the fabric does not curl, but creates a kind of folds when you pull the string. Such decorative look is perfect for classic style interiors. Austrian blinds are mounted to the wall or ceiling, however, there is also an option of attaching them to the window with a special bracket. Who will find this type of roller blinds best? Well, in people who, first of all, are looking for an uncommon decoration, and not just darkening the windows

Special features:

  • unique and eye-catching style,
  • interesting shape of the fabric,
  • creases that provide a cozy look.

Pleated blinds

Pleated blinds are a compact, modern yet simple window shading solution. Such roller blinds protect against the sun and are an excellent alternative to Roman blinds. Their main advantage is comfort and versatility of use. Pleated blinds are fitted to rectangular, trapezoidal and semicircular windows. They are also suitable for inaccessible roof windows and glazing. They are used in any architectural style.

The construction of pleated curtains consists of fabric fixed between two profiles by means of tensioning cords. When moving, the fabric folds into horizontal folds. This process resembles playing an accordion. Actually, the word “pleated” (French: plissé) means to fold something into folds. Light passing through the folds takes on a warm, soft hue. Thanks to their compact design, pleated blinds take up less space than other types of sun shades. After installation the blind blends in with the frame and is not noticeable. Pleated blinds are also suitable for mounting on balcony or loggia doors.

External blinds

Exterior roller blinds provide excellent sun protection and are also used as intrusion prevention systems. External roller blinds, as the name suggests, are mounted on the outside of the windows. Such models consist of interconnected slats, which together form a protective armor. The roller blinds are inserted into guides located on two sides of the window and rolled up into a cassette located at the top

External roller blinds provide excellent protection against rain, hail, snow and gusts of wind. They also provide thermal insulation – they can reduce heat loss in a room by up to 20%. What is more, most of the roller shutter systems are certified according to burglary resistance classes. Roller shutters can be connected to a security and alarm system, which will increase the effectiveness of burglar protection.
